Today, I want to tell you about one of my favorite completed projects. I redesigned the master bathroom for the Carolina property in Phoenix, and I'm going to take you through the before and after.
As you can see, the master bathroom was pretty depressing. It's a nice size, and having a walk-in shower and separate bathtub is certainly nice, but all the finishes are just so dated and so dreary. The shower door looks like something you'd find in a locker room. The counters are disorganized, and the accessories are neither aesthetically pleasing nor purposeful. You'll notice that the cupboards don't even have doors - just curtains! It doesn't look inviting, and it doesn't look relaxing.
When I started the project, these were my goals:
- Lighten up the room while keeping the same footprint.
- Modernize the cabinets and fixtures.
- Change out all the tile and countertops
- Add organization.
- Update the flooring.
- Create an inviting, relaxing atmosphere.
It's hard to believe that this is the same bathroom, but it is! We completely ripped out all of the fixtures, all of the tile, all of the flooring, and gave a whole new look from the ground up. The only thing that didn't change was the floor plan! We added a new shower with frameless glass walls so that more light could stream in. We added a warm granite to the countertop. We tiled the backsplash, the bathtub, and the shower. We replaced the cold ceramic floor tiles with beautiful stone, and best of all, look at those beautiful cabinets with all of the additional storage! For a special touch, we mounted an attractive wall hung wine rack for towel storage!
I'm so happy with how this bathroom turned out. The client was thrilled, and this remodel is still one of my favorite projects.
